FORWARDER: CRANAB INVESTS IN MORE EFFICIENT FORESTRY MECHANISATION
Summary of Report
Cranab AB in Vindeln, manufacturer of forestry machinery, is planning to invest 39.5 million SEK in new machinery. This will lead to a higher degree of mechanisation and will improve the company´s profitability and position on the global market.
The county administrative board in Västerbotten has agreed to provide 35 % of the investment as governmental funding, that is to say, 13.8 million SEK. Because of the size of this grant, Nutek (the Swedish agency for regional and economic growth) must also give its approval.
The company’s management is planning a rapid expansion and large investments. Cranab has 130 employees which makes it one of largest private employers in Västerbotten´s inland districts. Cranab is also an important member of a group consisting of companies working with forestry mechanisation.
Cranab manufactures mainly cranes and crane tip equipment for forestry machinery. Its sales go through Komatsu Forest AB and AB Slagkraft. Its products are sold to both the Swedish domestic market and to more than 30 export markets all over the world.
